Art News

• Star Wars artist Randy Martinez posted a nice still shot of his Kylo Ren painting from SDCC.

• As well as a nice Leia commission.

Book News

• Martha Wells has released some news on her next Raksura book The Edge of Worlds: A Novel of the Raksura, which will be out in hardcover April 2016. The book is already written and turned in and the cover is by Yukari Masuike, though the artwork hasn’t yet been revealed. Martha has a complete list of the pre-order outlets here. You can find the full announcement on the new novel here. The Edge of the Worlds will be the first book in a new duology.
• Timothy Zahn‘s Quadrail series is now available as eBooks from Open Road Media.
• Star Wars: The Original Trilogy Stories will be out September 1 in hardcover (via edelweiss).

This collection features 18 stories from the original Star Wars trilogy, beautifully illustrated by Star Wars artist Brian Rood. With foil on the cover, gilded pages, and over 250 pieces of both spot and full-page art, this storybook is a must-have for fans!

• The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens which will be out December 18 in hardcover. No cover yet for this one, but it will be written by Phil Szostak with a foreward by Rick Carter. Publisher is Abrams and it’s currently listed at 256 pages, 600 full color illustrations, 11.3 in W | 10.4 in H, $40.

• StarWars.com has a preview of Darth Vader #8.
• Comicbook.com has a look at Mike Mayhew’s cover variant for Lando #3.
• Bleeding Cool has a preview of Star Wars #8.
• John Ostrander’s Kros: Hallowed Ground was successfully funded.
• Edelweiss revealed a couple new titles including Star Wars: The Complete Marvel Years Omnibus Vol. 3

• Star Wars Epic Collection: Infinities

“COLLECTING: STAR WARS INFINITIES: A NEW HOPE 1-4, STAR WARS INFINITIES: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK 1-4, STAR WARS INFINITIES: RETURN OF THE JEDI 1-4, THE STAR WARS 0-8”, it will be out in paperback on December 29th.
