Conspiracy Report: Borsk Fey’lya, Back From the Dead

A little Ewok whispered in my ear that there was a hidden face on the cover of Crucible. At first, I didn’t believe it. Rumor had it that there was a image of Ben or a veiled woman in the upper left hand corner. So I pulled up the picture and took a look. I couldn’t see any face there no matter how hard I tried. Dejected, I pulled back my focus and glanced over at the other corner…and there I spied a face. Yet it wasn’t Ben, and it wasn’t a veiled woman. The face I spied was Borsk Fey’lya.

Let us begin with the visual proof before anyone starts saying I’m high on Hutts or more whacked out than Waru. Here is a side-by-side comparison of the covers. The one on the left is completely undoctored. The one on the right has been emphasized to show the face. Tell me that doesn’t look like a Bothan.

As soon as I saw the evil looking Bothan looming in the upper right hand corner, the conspiracy theory gears started turning. Who could it be? Why a Bothan? What could it mean? Well when I think of Bothans, especially evil Bothans, only one comes to mind: Borsk Fey’lya. Doesn’t that name give you chills just thinking about it? One of the most despised characters of the Star Wars Expanded Universe, Borsk Fey’lya was the politician you loved to hate, or just plain hated. He was a despicable, slimy, selfish character who always maneuvered himself against the heroes. We all couldn’t wait for him to die. When he did die, we all whooped in celebration that the wicked Bothan was dead. Finally!

Yet that face in the corner haunts me. It looks sinister and very Bothan like. If that dreadful image foretells the return of Borsk Fey’lya, some reanimated specter of political horror, then the Big 3 better watch out. The return to the old days, the Bantam days, the tear-your-hair-out-and-shout-at-the-book-because-Borsk-is-so-vile days could be fast approaching. Take another look at good old Borsk.

Yep, it’s definitely the end of the world. Better stock up on food now because Borsk is coming.
