One of the better figures in Wave 2 of Hasbro’s 6-inch Black Series figures is none other than Han Solo. He looks realistic, comes with a decent amount of accessories, has a good paint app, and some really good articulation.

The most sought after and hardest to find figure of The Black Series thus far is without a doubt the 6-inch Boba Fett. As part of Wave 2, Boba Fett is identical to the San Diego Comic Con and Star Wars Celebration Europe II exclusive figures, except for the packaging and the exclusion of Han Solo in carbonite. For looks, the Boba Fett figure is pretty awesome. The one thing that he falls short of is articulation.

As a collector, I’ve dived into Hasbro’s 6 inch Black Series figures, and with the release of Wave Two, I’ve fallen in love with Greedo.

Like the other figures in the series, Greedo has some nice articulation and attention to detail. His legs have a lot of articulation, far superior to the other figures in the series so far. Continue Reading The Black Series: Greedo…

The Black Series: Wave One

There has been a lot of talk about Hasbro’s new Black Series, especially the 6″ line that breaks the old 3 3/4″ collectible scale. As a toy collector myself, I’ve never been married to any one scale of collectible. To me, the important aspects are quality and quantity. While the new 6″ Black Series only has eight figures that have been revealed so far, they do succeed in the quality bracket. Each figure has very nice sculps, good paint applications, a decent amount of accessories and quite a bit of articulation.

Wave one of The Black Series 6″ is comprised of Darth Maul, Luke Skywalker in his pilot outfit, R2-D2 and Sandtrooper. Of the four, the Sandtrooper seems to be the more elusive figure to find, at least as of the moment. As far as tracking them down out in the wild, they’re most easily found at Target department stores and they’ve begun popping up at Toys R Us. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the figures of wave one. Continue Reading The Black Series: Wave One…

Toyfair 2013 unveiled some cool new Star Wars toy news, including some more details and images of Hasbro’s new Star Wars: The Black Series line.

According to Rebelscum.com, Hasbro is planning on doing 75% Original Trilogy characters and 25% Prequel Trilogy characters with a focus on fan favorites and best of. There are no plans yet for TCW, EU, creatures, or vehicles but Hasbro is open to the possibility depending on sales. The figures will have a mix of both “soft goods” and plastic parts.

AFT has an awesome gallery you can check out here. They’ve got pictures of the first wave (Luke, R2, Darth Maul, and Sandtrooper). Rebelscum has pictures on their site as well, along with other figures featured at Toyfair.

Pixel-Dan.com did a nice video of the figures on display with some commentary. The Black Series will be out in August.
