Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review. It’s a shorter one as I’m catching up from my vacation last week, but we’ll be back in the swing of things next week.

80’s Reboot Overdrive Podcast: James Kahn Interview is a good one to listen to. James has been making the rounds lately with podcast interviews, and this one, while covering some familiar ground, also breaks into some new territory. It’s a good interview with good hosts, excellent sound quality and a lot of Goonies focus.

Fangirls Going Rogue: Episode 20 includes news highlights, Star Wars Weekends coverage with audio clips and interviews with Steve Blum and Daniel Logan, a special discussion on their ten favorite Star Wars musical moments, and a character discussion on Barriss Offee. Great episode.

Full of Sith: Episode CXIX is hosted by Mike and Bryan with special guest Holly Frey as they talk about legendary actor Christopher Lee who recently passed away. They cover a little bit of everything, from his role in Star Wars, to Lord of the Rings and his Hammer Films work. Entertaining as always, this is a good one to check out.

RebelForce Radio: Episode 6.19.2015 has Star Wars Weekends coverage with Jimmy Mac and Steve Glosson as they talk with James Arnold Taylor, Ashley Eckstein, Taylor Gray and Ray Park, do the RebelForce Radio listener meetup, recount their Star Tours and Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular experiences and more. Definitely a fun episode to listen to.

Episode 6.12.2015 they cover some Star Wars book release dates, Jimmy discusses why he stopped reading Heir to the Jedi, they play Steve Glosson’s great Star Wars parody song of Nickleback’s “Rockstar”, they cover the upcoming mobile game Star Wars Uprising, the Han Solo bombshell from Marvel, and movie rumors. Lots of stuff packed into this one.

Skywalking Through Neverland: Episode 82 features guest Kevin Reitzel for Star Wars Weekends #3 coverage then shifts to Christopher Lee highlights, history and audio clips. As a big fan of Christopher Lee, I really enjoyed this episode. From his early career to his upcoming, unreleased work, they cover it all. Highly recommend it, and it goes great with the Full of Sith Christopher Lee episode, so be sure to double up.

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Assembly of Geeks:Dr. Doom vs The Muppets” is a fun episode covering Dark Crystal and Labyrinth sequels, a Ghostbusters reboot with an all female cast, Tricia’s report from Geek Girl Con, a Batman discussion and Michael Keaton’s comments on the role, plus the Lego Batman movie. They talk about the upcoming Archie vs Predator comic and propose Dr. Doom vs the Muppets. And there’s tv coverage for The Flash, Arrow, Gotham, and more. Great episode filled with tons of entertaining topics.

Bombad Radio: Episode 172 features an awesome interview with Dr. Travis Langley who talks about psychology and Batman. One of the great aspects of the interview is an observation he made. Batman is a hero define by his psychology, and his villains are in turn defined by their psychology. Dr. Langley digs into some of Batman’s most iconic villains and their various psychological issues. It’s a very intriguing combination of topics and a must listen to for Batman fans.

Coffee with Kenobi: Episode #25 includes special guest Ryder Waldron who talks about Salt Lake Comic Con 2014. The Bearded Trio provides some Spielberg updates and Jurassic World news. They reveal a new podcast that will be featured on their site called Legends Library and they share a decent sized audio clip from the hosts and their thoughts and experiences with the old Star Wars EU. It sounds interesting so I’ll have to check it out. Afterwards, Cory and Dan interview voice actress Catherine Taber (the voice of Padme from Star Wars: The Clone Wars). There are some audio problems with the interview. The first half and the last five questions are all fine, but in between there is a good sized chunk that got garbled by Skype. It only affected Cat’s audio, and it was only for part of the interview, so it’s still worth checking out. They asked some really good questions and Cat gave some good answers, really digging into the character of Padme.

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Bombad Radio: Episode 161 starts off with an unboxing of Dungeons & Dragons Next, flows into a con report of SDCC 2014, then jumps into the main feature: an interview with actor Adam Lazarre-White who voiced Jacob in the Mass Effect series. Adam talks about he got into acting, his early career in soap opera, moving into voice acting, the differences between roles, identifying scenes, being the character, and even basing Jacob on Han Solo. Kind of a neat interview and worth listening to if you’re a Mass Effect fan or interesting in acting and voice acting.

Coffee with Kenobi: Episode #22 includes some feedback on the Star Wars Rebels trailer out of SDCC 2014, some comments on the X-wing revealed in the Force for Change video, and the usual “Expresso Shot” from the Bearded Trivia hitting film news including Jurassic World. Consetta Parker stops by to talk about the upcoming Rancho Obi-Wan Gala, and they interview author Ian Doescher. Ian talks about the William Shakespeare Star Wars books, finding the right voices for the characters, and even shares what he’s working on next. Lot of goodness packed into this one episode, so be sure to check it out.

Special Edition: Coffee with Kenobi Discusses SDCC 2014” includes their thoughts on the Star Wars Rebels preview clips and the character of the Inquisitor. Then they with special guest Jeff McGee (Assembly of Geeks) about SDCC and collectibles. Jeff’s always a fun guy to listen to and Star Wars Rebels and SDCC make good discussion topics. Another good one to add to your playlist.
