They also talk about the stolen Rancho Obi-Wan items, then they head into their main discussion, The Empire Strikes Back Super 8. Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

After Dark Side: Episode 22 is the best After Dark Side episode I’ve listened to so far. They start out talking about YouTube, stuff they’re watching and new policies, then the discussion shifts to UFO’s and poltergeists. They get into dream examinations and spook stories which is pretty cool. Fun one to listen to.

Beltway Banthas: Episode XII features guests Lauren Milberger and Rachel Leishman (The FordCast) as they talk about actor Harrison Ford, his activism and his politics. It’s a very interesting episode covering aspects you don’t normally hear about on most Star Wars podcasts. Good one to check out.

Blast Points: Episode 39 covers Rogue One news, the product catalog, Star Wars Rebels clips, episode titles, and then they go into the George Lucas Super Live Adventure. They talk about the show, all the stuff it covered, the various music acts, etc. Now they don’t go into the history of the show too much as this one is mostly an overview of what was in the show as they watched the whole thing on YouTube. If you don’t know anything about it, Tested.com did a really nice write up on it a while back. That said, this episode gives you a better idea of what actually happened in the show without watching it yourself. Of course, it’ll also persuade you to check it out. Have fun! Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Beyond the Vote: Episode #006 covers a bad week for Trump as he talks abortion, the numbers involved for delegates, and what’s in store for the convention. Riley and Scott take politics and make it interesting. It’s noteworthy when each week one of the podcasts I look forward to most has nothing to do with Star Wars.

Blast Points: Episode 17 continues to raise the bar as Jason interviews Star Wars author J.W. Rinzler. I’ve heard Jason do a handful of interviews, and he always does a top notch job with some excellent questions. In this episode he talks with Rinzler about his first exposure to Star Wars, getting a job at Lucasfilm, making the Making Of books, and tries to get in a question about the Making of The Force Awakens, which unfortunately gets shot down. Good try though. They wrap up with some quick Star Wars favorite questions to finish off a fun interview. Be sure to give this one a listen.

Bombad Radio: Episode 236 features a Rogue One roundtable discussion with Jeremiah, James, Jason, Gabe and author Adam Bray as they give a full breakdown of the trailer with some excellent observations and connections. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

rebel-force-radioIn the latest episode of Rebel Force Radio, guests David Collins and James Arnold Taylor talk about The Clone Wars voice talent who lent their voices to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It’s an awesome episode providing some great behind-the-scenes info on the ADR work for the film, who did what lines, and how it came about. Be sure to give it a listen after you’ve seen the film and be prepared to go see it again so you can pick out all your favorite voice actors like James Arnold Taylor, David Collins, Sam Witwer, Cat Taber, Tom Kane, Dee Bradley Baker and even Dave Filoni.

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Bombad Radio: Glenn Panel features audio from the Glenn Moreshower panel from Salt Lake Comic Con. While you probably won’t recognize his name, you would recognize his face and voice as he’s been in a lot of movies in small roles. He talks about show business and Hollywood and is actually really funny. He tells some good stories and has a hilarious tip for people to get over their nervousness. I recommend checking this one out, it’s a lot of fun.

Coffee With Kenobi: Episode #36 is hosted by Dan and Jeff as they talk Star Wars news. Corey joins them for an experimental review of A New Hope done as if it’s the first time they saw it back in the day which is kind of corny but also funny. Then they have audio of a radio segment they did, an interview with Lou Mongello who talks Star Wars and Disney World (good guest), and they wrap things up with a collection of hilarious outtakes and then some listener feedback. Great episode. I also want to give a shout out to Jeff for filling in for Corey. He does a superb job. Fans of the show won’t be disappointed.

Celebration Anaheim Recap features their coverage of days three and four of Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. It’s recorded on their way home from the airport, so the audio is a little raw, but it’s still worth a listen as they have some good stories on what they did, who they met, and what happened. Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Coffee With Kenobi: Coffee Chat with James Arnold Taylor is a fun one as James talks about Star Wars Celebration Anaheim, The Comlink, Star Wars Weekends, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Cory and Dan present just the right atmosphere which results a in a very casual and entertaining conversation with James. A great episode for your Star Wars playlist.

Special Edition: Indiana Comic Con includes a lot of guests as they talked to multiple people at the convention including Princess Leia comic writer Mark Waid, blogger Amy Ratcliffe and more. They talk about their experiences at the con, and share their stories about meeting Carrie Fisher. And speaking of Carrie Fisher, afterwards they have the audio of her panel.

Dead Talks: The Walking Dead season finale has already aired, but I’m still catching up with the podcast. In Episode #36 they cover “Spend”, tackle how Rick’s group might be a bad influence for the people of Alexandria, Carol’s evolution as a character, Abraham finding his place in the community, and the horror Glen witnesses. Quite simply, I love this podcast. I can’t believe how much my Walking Dead fandom was missing out on. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

After Buzz:Path of the Jedi” episode features special guest James Arnold Taylor, the voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Hosted by Dillon Chance and Katie Cullen, it’s an interesting review of the episode, but mostly I just enjoyed hearing James’ comments. One really nice treat was when James mentioned that there was originally a pitch done for Star Wars Rebels to sell the show. For that pitch, James did the voice of Kanan, Dee Bradley Baker did the voice of Zeb, and Catherine Taber did the voice of Hera and Sabine. Toward the end of the show, they went into a news and rumors section which I tuned out on as I’m still trying to avoid The Force Awakens spoilers, but there’s plenty of warning so no need to worry about accidentally getting spoiled.

Bombad Radio: Episode 183 kicks off with a tough questions – which five expanded universe novels would you make canon? After that, Jeremiah and Jason interview author Walter Jon Williams who talks about his start in historical fiction, his extensive travelling, doing Star Wars, the research involved, what events had to be in the book, rejected ideas that would have explained why Jedi couldn’t marry, coming up with the Sword of the Jedi idea, as well as working on movies and video games and differences between the mediums. It’s a nice interview that helps shine a light on part of the EU and gives fans a better idea about Destiny’s Way and the author behind it.

Fangirls Going Rogue: Episode #15 reveals their newest member, Sarah Woloski, thus creating the fangirl trifecta of awesomeness. Seriously, these are my three favorite female podcasters and now they’re all in one show. A listener could not ask for more (…well maybe one more, Amy Ratcliffe). In this episode they talk about the runDisney Star Wars Half-Marathon, the Rebel, Jedi, Princess, Queen: Star Wars and the Power of Costume Smithsonian touring exhibit, Tricia mentions and interview she did with Star Wars writer Tish Pahl, they talk about Sabine sketchbook artist Annie Stoll, and they have a character discussion focusing on Luke Skywalker. Lots of fun and plenty of great topics. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Bombad Radio: Episode 162 is actually a remix of two old episodes featuring an interview with actor, director and voice actor Kristoffer Tabori. For the first time, they present the two part interview in one seamless episode. I hadn’t hear this one before, so it was a fun interview to listen to. Kris talk about the work he’s done, voicing HK-47 in KOTOR, auditioning for Star Wars: A New Hope and shares a lot of fun Hollywood stories.

Coffee with Kenobi: Episode #23 starts off with some Star Wars Rebels discussion as they cover the 7 minute preview clip. The Bearded Trio chimes in with a quick interview with Cory Dee Williams. Afterwards, Dan and Cory have a spoiler free Guardians of the Galaxy chat. Then there’s the main feature: their interview with author Adam Bray on the Star Wars Rebels: The Visual Guide. Adam talks about his travel books, working with different teams to make the Visual Guide, and some fun general Star Wars discussion.

Full of Sith: Episode LXXVIII is their “Rumor Control” show focusing on the latest Star Wars Episode VII rumors and possible leaks. If you’re avoid rumors, you’ll definitely want to skip this one. However, if you want to catch up on all the latest rumors, this is a great episode to listen to. They cover the Stormtrooper helmets, Han Solo’s outfits, the cyborg/inquisitor Vader-villain, and a very nice breakdown of how all of these rumors might flow together. The show also starts out with some listener feedback covering previous topics like Shadows of the Empire, evil Yoda, etc. It’s a good episode to check out.
