Along with the blurb news, Edeweiss also had some tentative release dates for the other Rebels novels, though I’m not sure how firm these dates will be. According to them, James S.A. Corey’s Han Solo novel is set for March 2014 and Kevin Hearne’s Luke Skywalker novel is set for January 2015, which seems a long ways off. This far out, those dates will probably change as we get closer to each release.

Random House’s Fall 2012 catalog has some new info on Timothy Zahn’s upcoming Han Solo novel including a new blurb.

Ocean’s Eleven meets Star Wars in this classic adventure set just after Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. From #1 New York Times bestselling author Timothy Zahn.

The Death Star has just been destroyed and Han Solo still needs the money to pay off the bounty on his head. Now the opportunity to make that money and then some has walked into his life in the form of the perfect heist. With nine like-minded scoundrels, he and Chewbacca just might be able to pull it off and live to tell the tale!

According to the “Key Selling Points” the novel will include a wrap around cover featuring the scoundrels. The key points also mention Lando. You can check out the details here. Our thanks go out to Knights Archive for spotting the news.

Star Wars author Timothy Zahn has posted a few updates on his Facebook page worth taking note of. First off, his upcoming, untitled Han Solo novel will be set around A New Hope. As of yet, it hasn’t been determined whether it will take place after or before. In other news, a fan asked about the Chiss’ appearance in Star Wars: The Old Republic and how that would fit in with Zahn’s stories.

If I had to hand-wave this one, I’d probably say that over the thousands of years between SWTOR and HttE the Chiss pulled back to their own territory and the records of them were lost.

From another point of view, of course, the fact that the game designers thought the Chiss popular enough to include is a wonderful compliment. However we have to work things to make the the continuity shake out, it’s an honor to have Thrawn’s people kicking butt and taking names.

Now if only someone could get them to ask me to write a side adventure… -Timothy Zahn

Plus Tim has a new book out this week, Cobra Gamble, the third book in the Cobra War Trilogy.
