Star Wars Adventures #13 kicks off with the second part of “Intermission” which is an entertaining little story. There’s some nice humorous bits as Anakin and Padme wrap up the story and take care of the Separatist’s plot. The art is cartoony, but it works with the action and the light hearted story.

“The Blue Brothers” is a pun on The Blues Brothers and has some fun following Max Rebo. Interestingly enough, the artist drew Max as the puppet character was originally designed and constructed for Return of the Jedi, but not seen by the audience. In other words, he has no arms, just two feet (which he used to play his instrument in the movie, but it looked like it was his arms). Anyways, in the story, we meet Max’s brother, Azool. They get into trouble, and in the end, Jabba the Hutt helps sort it out. Again, a fun little story. The art is a little rougher, and a different style, but there is a fair amount of detail in the scenes and with the background characters.

Overall, both stories are fun little Star Wars adventures. Nothing extremely important, nothing earth shattering, and nothing that raises the visual bar, but they’re enjoyable and worth checking out. I give Star Wars Adventures #13 a four out of five nexus.
