Dark Temple #2

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order – Dark Temple #2 (of 5)

Writer: Matthew Rosenberg

Colorist: Arif Prianto
Letterer: Joe Sabino
Cover Artist: Paolo Villanelli, and Neeraj Menon

Dark Temple #2 amps up the action and the story as the padawan gets into some serious trouble. With two cultural factions on the brink of war, it’s a tough decision for a young Jedi to deal with. Who do you know you can trust?

After being attacked in the previous issue, the padawan wakes up in a jail cell. However, she quickly learns they are not keeping her prisoner, just safe. After hearing their side of the story, she decides to help them and goes off to the capital to get help. There she just finds more trouble as the leaders are already in bed with the bad guys, and she’s left with no way to call out for help. She returns to warn the others about the danger that’s coming after taking on a bunch of security forces.

The artwork is pretty good, and the story is fine, but I still don’t know what this has to do with the video game. Nor do I have any clear idea why this story is important. The issue opened in the future with the inquisitor attacking someone who had a lightsaber but apparently wasn’t a Jedi. There’s a temple everyone wants to find and explore, but they haven’t said why the temple is important yet. Hopefully the future issues will answer those questions and add some importance.

As is, I give this issue a two and a half out of five metal bikinis. It’s not bad by any means, but I’m not sure if there’s any reason to recommend it.
