Blast Points: Episode 161 is their Rick McCallum episode which actually features a Rick McCallum song. They talk about the man, the myth and the legend as they touch on his role in The Phantom Menace documentary The Beginning, his panels at Star Wars Celebrations, Hyperspace chats, and how he first met George while George was working on The Return to Oz. They talk about how he got into show business, his work on The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, they touch on his involvement with the special editions, and how he helped make the prequels. Plus they have listener stories on Rick McCallum. It’s a great episode and lots of fun.

Blast Points: Blast Points Commentary – STARCRASH is a special episode only available to Blast Points Patreon members. I have to admit, I recently signed up because I couldn’t stand the idea of Blast Points doing commentary episodes and I was missing out on them. Not only did I listen to their commentary, but I actually watched the movie along with it as well, which is a first as I usually don’t do that. It was well worth it. Starcrash is a unique film that will certainly help you appreciate Star Wars more. Both movies have a lot of the same elements – starhips, space battles, blasters, aliens, strong female characters in lead roles (Starcrash wins here as the main character is female), and even the Force and lightsabers. Yes, Starcrash ripped those off, but there’s a certain special shock value to seeing David Hasselhoff fighting with a green lightsaber that actually predates Return of the Jedi. Heck, they even went to a snow planet before Star Wars since this predates The Empire Strikes Back. However, you’re in for some really awful acting and special effects, but it’s bad in an enjoyable way at least. The Blast Points commentary makes it even better.

Hearts of Kyber: Episode 1 kicks off a new Star Wars podcast. Yes, I know, another one. But despite the vast variety of Star Wars podcasts out there, this one stands out a bit and is worth checking out. In this debut episode they start by introducing themselves and talking about their Star Wars fandom. Then, for this episode’s main topic, they talk about something I have never heard anyone else focus on before – the use of characters as foils. They zero in on the sequel trilogy characters as they discuss the use of Hux as a foil for Kylo, Kylo and Finn, Finn and Poe, and how these characters are used to show the differences between each other. Great discussion. Afterwards they talk a little bit about Celebration. Good first episode. Lots of potential here so be sure to give them a try.

The Skyhoppers: Episode CXXXVI they talk about The Old Republic, their feelings on it, the lore, the MMO, the video games, and eventually the transition to the Tales of the Jedi comics which is a bit more positive.
