Chatter Squadron: F&V – Star Wars All Out Brawl Tournament is hosted by Tyler, Mike and John as they do some fight intros for various Star Wars characters. It’s like the boxing warm ups you get from the announcers as they setup the fight and try to hype it, and it’s actually pretty fun. They do Yoda vs Maul, Bane vs Bastilla, Vader vs Mace, etc. This was my first time checking this podcast out and I really enjoyed it. The hosts are fun and the production and audio quality is excellent. I’ll definitely be checking out some more episodes.

Grant stuff, Solo’s Oscar nomination, Disney+ and lots of tangents. Then they get into toys as they talk about UK Toy Fair, backpacks, models, Hot Wheels, and Hasbro Toy Shop. There’s an F-bomb in this one, and the episode could probably have used some editing to tighten it up some. Okay episode with some fun moments.

ForceCenter: Episode 155 they talk about the Bob Iger call, Star Wars leaks (but they don’t go into them so it’s spoiler free), Elon Musk and Taika Waititi, then they get into their main discussion which is romance in Star Wars. They talk about Han and Q’ira, Reylo and toxic romance, Poe and Finn’s non-romantic relationship, and what if Rey and Finn hooked up still. Plus they go over listener feedback. Great episode.

Rating: Great

Galactic War Report: Episode 141 they talk about prepping for Celebration, the new shuttle bonus shards, Fleet Energy Pack, other stuff available, weekly shipments, new battle droid stuff, whether Grievous can balance out Revan, and some ship strategies. This is a straight up Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes podcast, so if you’re not playing that game, you probably won’t get much out of this as they get in deep into the game, new stuff, strategies and mechanics. However, as someone who has been play the game for a bit (started last year), I enjoyed it. It’s helpful and there’s some good info in it. This is my first time checking out the show and I’ll definitely be listening to more episodes.

Grand Moff Talkin’: Episode 84 is part one of their commentary for Star Wars: A New Hope. Jazmine isn’t on this episode, but they do have special guest Chelsea to sub in for her. They do go into some odd tangents like Luke’s hotness, Episode IX concept art leaks, which they bleep out, and they talk again about the proposed twist for The Phantom Menace. They end this part of the commentary at the firing of the Death Star. I have to admit, I’ve never actually listened to a podcast episode for a commentary for a movie while watching the movie they’re discussing. It’s kind of funny. Not sure how well this one holds up in that regard, but if you’re just listening to it like a normal podcast episode, like I did, it’s not too bad.

Podcast Network: N/A
Runtime: 1 hour 2 minutes
Audio Quality: Excellent
Production Quality: Okay
Hosts: Jake, Jazmine, and Riley
Rating: Good

Inside the Force: Episode 248 is hosted by Dave and Casey as they talk about the Celebration podcast stage, Celebration guests, their plans for Celebration, rumored Episode IX title leak, lightsabers, their questions going into Episode IX, expectations and wants, and their Episode I viewing experience when it first came out. Runtime: 1 hour 12 minutes
Audio Quality: Excellent
Production Quality: Excellent
Hosts: Casey, and Dave
Rating: Good

Lords of the Sith Podcast: Episode 16 they go over the leaked concept art for Episode IX. Now since it’s concept art, there’s no guarantees if any of this is what they’ll end up using for the movie, and it’s not the most spoilerish of stuff, so you might be okay listening to his one if you’re not trying to completely avoid all elements of spoilers. I went ahead and listened to this one, and I’m trying to stay away from spoilers. This stuff wasn’t too bad. No Denise in this one. Good episode, though.

Podcast Network: N/A
Runtime: 27 minutes
Audio Quality: Excellent
Production Quality: Excellent
Hosts: Denise, Lee, and Mary
Rating: Good

Making Tracks: Episode 17 they talk toys and promotion, Celebration predictions, plans, and they have some audio from Farthest From with Ross Sambridge. Ross talks about being Snoke and working with Andy Serkis in The Last Jedi, as well as his work on Solo. Good episode. Nice interview.

Pods & Ends: Episode 10 is just hosted by Bryan and Shelby. They talk about the Super Bowl, their Vegas trip, The Grammys, anime, and their main discussion is Avatar: The Last Airbender. Now I’ve never seen the show, so I didn’t get a lot out of this. Can’t say they really sold me on watching it. Then again, I was a little off put by Bryan dissing country music and anyone who listens to country music, so there is that. If you’ve watched the show, you might enjoy this one.

Podcast Network: N/A
Runtime: 47 minutes
Audio Quality: Excellent

Scruffy Lookin’ Nerd Herders: Episode 29 is hosted by Tyler and covers a bunch of news, including Marvel comics giving away some digital copies, Bob Iger’s investor call and EA, other video games and success, the Super Bowl Endgame trailer, news on the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 script, and a Sith troopers rumor. Interesting format. It’s not strictly Star Wars, but there’s a strong Star Wars theme, at least in this episode. Seems to be all things Star Wars and geeky. Not sure if all the episodes are news focused, but I like the short format with it just being 29 minutes. It’s a solo hosted podcast but it’s done very well. Excellent audio quality and production quality. Fairly kid friendly though there was one cuss word in this one. I’ll have to check out some more episodes.

Podcast Network: N/A
Runtime: 29 minutes
Audio Quality: Excellent
Production Quality: Excellent
Hosts: Tyler
Rating: Good

Scruffy Lookin’ Podcasters: Episode 58 is hosted by James, Ed and Kev as they talk about what they’ve been up to, Star Wars Celebration, autographs, upcoming Celebration guests, professional LEGO builders, Benioff and Weiss news, Star Wars books, Galaxy’s Edge tie-ins, and Episode IX rumors which is where I stopped listening as I’m trying to avoid spoilers. This was my first time listening to this podcast. Kind of a long episode. Not really kid friendly as there is cussing and F-bombs. It’s okay. Looking at their past episodes, not all of them run over two hours, but it’s also not uncommon for them. Not sure if I’ll be checking out anymore or not.

Star Wars: From the Bacta Tank: February 6, 2019 is hosted by Michael and David as they talk about the newly revealed Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge literary tie-ins, new info on the Galaxy’s Edge rides, C-3PO’s last day of shooting on Star Wars Episode IX and whether we’ll see 3PO and R2 killed off. They also talk about Star Wars Celebration, being picked for the podcast stage, being able to do a clean show there, new Celebration guests announced, speculation on what we might see of The Mandalorian there, and they look forward to Claudia Gray’s Master and Apprentice novel. This is the first time I’ve listened to podcast and it came on my radar since they’re on the podcast stage for Celebration. So, first things first, this is not a kid friendly podcast. It’s also not a podcast for everyone as in addition to the cussing and F-bombs, there’s sexual jokes and humor and some lewd and crude comments. If that’s not your thing, you’ll want to skip this one. That said, it’s actually a good podcast as long as you’re not offended by it. It has a very morning radio show feel, but it’s unedited as far as content. The audio quality and production quality is excellent. I don’t think I’ll be adding it to the rotation, but I might check out a couple more episodes. I’m also interested in seeing them at Celebration if I can as it would be interesting to see them do a clean show.

Podcast Network: Rain Man Digital

Production Quality: Excellent
Hosts: David, and Michael
Rating: Good

Star Wars Loose Canon: In Space, No One Can Hear You Complain About Physics dives into some of the issues in Star Wars where the creators play fast and loose with reality and how things really work. They talk about the issues with how space is treated in the Star Wars comics, and what would really happen to someone if they were in the vacuum of space. They also talk lasers, have some fun with Neil deGrasse Tyson, and go off on a Steve Palpatine tangent. Good episode, though.

Podcast Network: N/A
Runtime: 52 minutes
Audio Quality: Excellent
Production Quality: Excellent
Hosts: Alex, Nick, and Patrick
Rating: Good

Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: Episode 73.1 Dennis and Taxus talk about Star Wars Resistance “The First Order Occupation.” They breakdown the episode and talk about Kaz, Synara, the First Order, the yellow janitor, the humor, Synara’s character and what they think will happen to her. Great episode breakdown.

Production Quality: Excellent
Host: Dennis, Jay, and Taxus
Rating: Great

Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: Episode 73.2 is soloed by Dennis as he talks about the book Pirate’s Price. He breaks this episode up into a non-spoiler then spoiler discussion, covers each of the stories in the book, and he covers the audiobook version which is read by Hondo himself, Jim Cummings. Good episode.

Podcast Network: Retrozap
Runtime: 18 minutes
Audio Quality: Excellent
Production Quality: Excellent
Host: Dennis, Jay, and Taxus
Rating: Good

Talk Star Wars: Episode 155 features guests Carlos and Andy as they join Rob to talk about Star Wars Resistance, and then go into a long discussion on who would win in a fight with various Star Wars characters. They also talk about who they would eliminate from Star Wars, favorite last lines, video games and EA. Good episode. The Bad Motivators: Episode 103 they talk about Episode IX title speculation, recent acquisitions, the Super Bowl, Liam Neeson, Taylor Swift, and Episode IX rumors from MakingStarWars.Net (if you’re skipping spoilers, jump to the 47 minute mark). They also talk about John Ratzenberger and throw some shade at Cheers, Taika Waititi article, Galaxy’s Edge tie-ins, and Star Wars Resistance. Now this episode was pretty long, and it’s easy to get fatigued when listening to a podcast that goes over two hours. This one felt long, and they went off topic a lot. Worth noting it’s not kid friendly as they do drop some F-bombs. Eh, okay episode but I’m going to drop this podcast. There’s a lot of Star Wars podcasts out there and this one isn’t for me. That said, I always recommend checking a podcast out for yourself and making up your own mind rather than just taking my word for it as everyone has their own likes and dislikes.

The Deucecast Movie Show: Episode 365 features guest Jennifer Kaufman as they play a movie game, then discuss bad rom com movies that they actually like. Burgess jumps in eventually to talk a little about the movie festival he’s at then runs down his Burgentine movies. Unfortunately, his audio is terrible and they don’t edit anything. Kind of makes the episode messy. Good episode, but that did bring it down.

Runtime: 1 hour 21 minutes
Audio Quality: Excellent to Terrible
Production Quality: Okay
Hosts: Dave, Mikey, and Dr. Earl
