Happy Beeps: Episode 21 tackles the theme of redemption in both Star Wars and the real world. Jennifer talks about Anakin Skywalker, forgiveness, and whether he really redeemed himself. She goes over Luke and his love and compassion for his father, and how it is through him that Vader is redeemed. She touches on the prequels how they made it harder to forgive Anakin and how it made his story more of a Greek tragedy. Then the discussion moves on to Kylo Ren and whether Ben Solo can be redeemed. What can be done to undo the harm he’s done. Complementing that, she goes into redemption in the real world, how an apology is not enough when trust has been broken, but how it is important to offer the possibility of redemption to everyone. Radio D’Qar: Resistance S1E12 Dangerous Business Review is hosted by Doug Brooks as he goes over the episode, but kinda features a special guest in the background as he’s babysitting his kid so you’ll hear some occasional noises and crying. Thus the audio quality isn’t the best on this one. I think Doug mentioned he had a cohost, who wasn’t available for this episode, so this probably isn’t the best example of what the show normally sounds like. That said, it’s the first show I listened to, so I’ll have to try another one to get a better idea of how the show normally is. This one features minimal editing and lots of background noise. However, Dough does talk about the episode, the characters, Kaz’s lack of retail experience, Bitey, Flix and Orka, the midseason trailer, and the Star Wars Resistance short featuring Flix and Orka. It’s an okay episode, but not one I’d recommend.

The 602 Club: Episode 218 features guest Zach Moore as they talk about the movie Glass. First off, if you liked the movie, you probably won’t enjoy listening to this episode. I really liked the movie, and I wanted to stop listening to this episode halfway through. I ended up listening to the whole thing and wish I didn’t as it wasn’t an enjoyable experience. Matthew and Christy didn’t like the movie and had a lot of criticisms and complaints about the movie (Matthew more than Christy). Zach, on the other hand, liked the movie, which was about the only way I was able to hang in to the end. I really wish they labeled the episodes with whether it’s going to be an overall positive or negative discussion of the topic they’re going to talk about as I’d love to skip the episodes that are negative about the things I liked as I don’t have any interest to hear anyone talk about that for more than five or ten minutes tops. Beyond that it just gets depressing or frustrating.

The Story Geeks: ENDGAME v. EP. IX features Justin and Jay trying to present a case on why Avengers: Endgame or Star Wars Episode IX should be the most anticipated movie of 2019. Daryl moderates as they present their arguments. I have to admit, this is a hard one to do it justice as we don’t even have a title yet for Episode IX, let alone a teaser, so fans are completely in the dark on what to expect. On the other hand, we’ve already got a teaser for Endgame and it’s going to come out a lot sooner. They try to make a compelling case, but Marvel wins this handily. Good episode, though.
