And they go over listener feedback. This was my first time listening to this podcast. They have excellent audio quality and production quality, but I’m not sure it’s something I’ll be checking out again. You might want to give them a listen to see if it’s something you like. Fair warning, there’s lots of F-bombs and adult language, so if you listen with your kids, keep that in mind.

Fangirls Going Rogue: Episode 65 Teresa is back, and they have on guest Kai Charles. Fair warning, though, this episode gets deep and serious as they tackle some weighty subject matter – mental health. First they talk a little about what their excited for in 2019, then they touch on Fuel Your Force. Afterwards they transition to Ahmed Best and his video about almost committing suicide. Teresa shares her own experiences with depression, and Tricia shares her experiences as well. It can get emotional, so you might want to have a tissue box handy. On a positive note, it’s more than just sharing their problems, but how to deal and cope with those issues, so it’s a good episode to check out. They end on a lighter note as they talk about Amy Ratcliffe’s book Women of the Galaxy. Excellent episode and one that can certainly help people who are dealing with issues in their lives.

They talk about their favorite Star Wars moments, things, and people, go over listener feedback, Brian defends The Last Jedi, and Mike talks about taking a break from podcasting. Grand Moff Talkin’: Episode 81 features guest Mack as they talk stolen credit cards, broken feet, and then dig into Dark Tide I: Onslaught, the second book in the New Jedi Order series. They talk about the long title of the book, they lay into the author, Michael Stackpole and Corran being a Mary Sue, they really hate on Corran, and they talk about Anakin and Mara Jade (that’s where the positive discussion comes in). There’s a dramatic reading (which they do a really good job with) and, believe it or not, even with all the shade they throw toward Stackpole, one of my favorite authors, they did mange to bring the episode a round a little in the end to make it overall a more or less fun episode. It’s not an easy listen of you’re a Stackpole or Corran fan.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode 257 is Tim’s last episode as he has decided to end the podcast. This one is a farewell. Reaching 257 episodes is certainly a respectable number, especially given the short amount of time Less Than 12 Parsecs has been around. It was a short format Star Wars podcast, normally focusing on a singular topic and giving some quick thoughts about the subject. Episodes ranged from reviews of movies, TV shows and books, to interviews with fellow podcasters. I was even a guest at one time. While most of the episodes where under 10 minutes, there were a few long ones from time to time. While the podcast has come to an end, the back catalog is still out there for the moment if you want to peruse it and there’s some good ones in there. My favorites are the “10 Stoopid Questions” episodes as they each feature a guest and Tim would come up with 10 ridiculous Star Wars themed questions that would put any guest in the hot seat to come up with a funny answer (having received the treatment I can tell you it was a challenge). Those episodes were all fun and timeless, so they’re definitely worth going back and checking out. Chances are you’ll find an episode with one of your favorite podcasters. With this being the last episode of Less Than 12 Parsecs, it doesn’t seem fitting to give it a rating, so I’ll leave this one as N/A. This one is just for the listeners of the show.

Good episode, and a good one to start with if you haven’t listened to this podcast (fortuitous of me that I happened to start with this one). They have excellent audio quality. I’ll probably check out some more episodes. Worth noting, their is adult language.

Rebel Force Radio: Episode 1.11.2019 Jason talks about re-watching The Force Awakens and how it was like a refreshing cleansing. They have on guest Chris Macht as they talk about the negativity in fandom last year and wanting to push past it this year. They touch on the Toys R Us documentary he’s working on, and they talk about Star Wars for New Years, Celebration and Chicago, listener emails, looking back at 2018, a friend who passed, and a nice breakdown of Darth Vader #25 that zeros in on the art techniques how that might indicate what is real or not real in the issue. They also dive into symbolism, the theme, and the core lesson learned. Plus they touch on the Vader: Shards of the Past fan film. Good episode. I really appreciated the breakdown of the Darth Vader #25 comic as I’ve been struggling to make sense of that one.

Scott Ryfun: The TLJ Commentary That Would Have Been so this is an odd one, and not really a podcast, but would have been one if they didn’t run into audio issues. Scott put this up on his SoundCloud account and it’s 32 minutes of audio of Scott Ryfun, Shazbazzar, and Steve Glosson as they try to do a commentary for The Last Jedi. It was recorded back when the movie was out in theaters, but unfortunately they had some issues with the audio recording equipment so they didn’t get the whole thing recorded. As such, it’s kind of a tease of what could have been a good episode (I think they were planning to release it via Geek Out Loud). Not all of the 32 minutes is a commentary, either, as some of it is pre-show, and some of it is them talking about the audio malfunction. The chunk that is commentary is really good, so it’s sad it didn’t work out. As is, you can skip this one, or you can check it out if your curious.

They talk about the color blue, The Theory of Colors, different interpretations of the shades of blue, the legacy lightsaber, Kylo’s desire for it, and Rey fixing it. Most of the discussion focuses on Rey and Kylo, but they also touch on Anakin. In part two, they discuss green, white and yellow. They talk about Ahch-To, Luke’s lightsaber, Luke choosing the legacy lightsaber over his green one, what white represents, Ahsoka, her green and yellow lightsabers, and they also touch on Mace and his purple lightsaber. In part three, they talk about red lightsabers, they go off on a tangent about the Darksaber, they talk about Dooku and red, red in The Last Jedi, Vader in Rogue One, Sith bleeding their crystals, Kylo’s imperfect lightsaber, and kyber crystals being alive. Good discussion and good topic. They explore some interesting ideas.
