Adolescence After Alderaan: Episode 17 they cover The Young Jedi Nights book Jedi Bounty as they talk about the Diversity Alliance, bounty hunters, Zekk, how the books constantly re-explain the world, and there’s some tangents on Puppy Dog Pals and Harry Potter. Good episode.

Adolescence After Alderaan: Episode 25 covers the Star Wars novel I, Jedi by Michael Stackpole. They talk about how it’s satisfying and frustrating. They go over Corran, the story, how it overlaps with The Jedi Academy trilogy, the conflict between Corran and Luke, and they kind of tear the book apart at one point, which was a little too negative for my enjoyment, but they did bring it back a little afterwards, so I managed to stick with it. You may or may not want to listen to this one depending on whether you liked the book or not.

Doing Talking: Episode 26 is a new podcast I checked out that is hosted by Madison Thames. I only had the time to check out one episode so far, but it was very good, especially for a solo hosted podcast which it typically very difficult as you have no one to bounce off of, but Madison does a great job of carrying on the conversation and keeping it engaging. In this episode, she tackles Ben Solo and whether he is a redeemable character. She addresses how the character is not as bad as Darth Vader, who was redeemed, how he is conflicted but not lost, his mask and his vulnerability, Snoke’s manipulation, his flipping out when Rey rejects him, and more. Good discussion and worth checking out.

Mighty Marvel Geeks: Episode 234 is an interesting episode as they talk with Rebecca Staab, Oley Sassone, Joseph Culp, Jay Underwood, Alex Hyde-White and Carl Ciarfalio, the cast and director for the unreleased 1994 Fantastic Four movie made by Roger Corman. While it was never officially released, it did leak out onto the internet so you can watch it. I had never heard about this movie, so I came into this cold. They talk about the project, making the movie, getting into the characters and researching them, how fun it was, their thoughts on how it holds up, and they discuss how it was never released. They also talk about what it’s like now looking back on it, talking with the fans, and doing the con circuit. It’s an interesting discussion, though a bit hectic with all the people involved (there’s some talking over each other, and audio quality varies from person to person). If you’ve never heard about this movie, it’s worth checking out to hear their side of the story. There’s a little bit of swearing, so keep that in mind.

Hosts: Mike, Eric, and Kylan
Rating: Interesting

Pods & Ends: Episode 4 they talk books (The New Jedi Order), music (Pitbull’s Ocean to Ocean), Netflix (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs) and sports, then get to their main discussion which is the film Mortal Engines. They share their thoughts on the movie, the characters and the story, how it compares to the book, and they do get into spoilers. Lots of praise for the film so it may be worth checking out. I’d probably advise not listening to this one until you’ve seen the movie, but they didn’t spoil too much, I don’t think. I haven’t seen it yet as I was on the fence, but they did make it seem like it would be worth seeing.
