Then they talk some Star Wars, discuss a little Rhode Island Comic Con, and dive into Star Wars Episode IX with some speculation, and some discussion of the cast. They also do a little need’em got’em as they talk about the Dryden Vos 6″ figure and the various four armed figures Hasbro is doing. Fun episode.

Full of Sith: Never Tell Me the Odds – Part I Bobby brings another special episode (a two parter) focusing on the music of Star Wars, this time highlighting Solo. He talks about John Powell, he discusses John Williams doing the theme for Han, and he dives into the themes for Enfys Nest, Chewbacca, Qi’ra, and Beckett. He talks about some of the motifs, and shares his observations on the film. An excellent episode and one I highly recommend checking out.

Talking Bay 94: Episode 19 features an interview with Richard Edlund who is quite the storyteller. He talks about joining the Navy, going to photo school, how a sunburn got him stationed in Japan, getting into movies, special effects, shooting album covers, working on Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back, how they pulled off the effects, working with the models, the grind of Return of the Jedi, working on Raiders of the Lost Ark and with Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy, the matte paintings, and more. Great stories and great episode.

Talking Bay 94: Episode 20 features an interview with Kenner toy designer Jim Swearingen. Jim talks about his start in the toy business, working on the Star Wars Kenner line, the early meetings on the project, seeing the movie for the first time, some of the toys he worked on, and some fun stories. Now it’s a good interview, but if you’ve already listened to Skywalking Through Neverland episode 210, a lot of this will already be familiar territory and that interview gets into a bit more depth. This one is good, and if you like it, be sure to check out Skywalking Through Neverland for an even more in-depth interview with Jim.

The Star Wars Weekly Podcast: Episode 30 they go over Bob Iger’s comments on slowing down the release of Star Wars films, they talk about Star Wars Resistance, Andy Serkis rumor and speculation, info on the Age of comic maxi series, they talk about the Lando mini-series, the Star Wars main title, annuals, and their thoughts on comics. They talk video games, Solo features, deleted scenes, Jon Kasdan’s notes, why Solo should get a sequel, favorite things in Solo, and eventually they get back to Bob Iger’s comments. Great discussions, but a very long episode. Would have benefited greatly if it was broken up into several smaller podcast episodes. As is, a bit too much to listen to all in one sitting.
