Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode 242 Tim talks about various things including the 501st Legion, his thoughts on spoilers, and some other random stuff, but overall still an entertaining episode.

Skytalkers: By George – The Prequel Years starts off with the book news for Queen’s Shadow and Master and Apprentice. They talk about their plans for an Ahsoka episode, then they get to their George Lucas discussion. They talk about Jurassic Park and digital effects, George’s museum, pushing digital film making, feeling bad for George, pushing the boundaries, the practical and digital effects for The Force Awakens, Strange Magic and how it’s a fairy tale for George’s daughters. They talk about Reylo, modern music, the special editions, of Star Wars and George changing his films while arguing against changing others’ art, thoughts on releasing despecialized editions, selling to Disney, letting go, and times they’ve seen him. Now their three part series is loosely inspired/influenced by a George Lucas biography, but there’s a lot of randomness to their discussions. While they are all centered around George, there’s not a good through line or organization to it, which kind of hurts the overall discussion. In then end, it’s an okay episode.

Then there’s an Obi-Wan tangent, a Doctor Aphra tangent, then they talk about the Fantasy Flight Star Wars card game, the ship game, supporting comic stores, and table top roleplaying games. I have to admit, I’d like to hear more about the guy trying to seduce a rancor as that sounds funny. Kind of an odd show as I’m not sure what the overall theme was of the discussion. They started off covering the casting news, went off on some character tangents, then talked about Fantasy Flight games. Not an indepth discussion, just a general discussion. Okay episode overall.

We Know Nothing: Episode 2 goes over Game of Thrones Season 5 Episode 2. It’s hosted by Joe Tavano and Kevin Rampelberg as they talk about the opening credits excluding Dorne, the relationship between Cersei and Jamie, Bravos and Arya, the coin and the faceless man, Arya’s game plan, Brienne and the inn, Sansa, Podrick and Baelish, predictions on what is going to happen, Dorne and how their society works, Varys and Tyrion, Stannis and Jon Snow, the election, Qyburn, the small council, Mereen and the mess there, and Drogon. Now I just started listening to We Know Nothing as I just recently finished watching all of the seasons of Game of Thrones. I was looking for a podcast to dive in deeper into the show, and I remembered that Retrozap had a Game of Thrones podcast, so I binged it. Joe and Kevin do a good job of breaking each episode down and keeping it fun. There’s some language, but then again, there’s language in the TV show too, and it doesn’t detract from the discussions. It’s not the highest quality production value, and I’m not sure how much editing they do if any, but the sound quality is still pretty good, and the discussions are good. If you like GOT, the podcast is worth checking out. Not only do they break down each episode, but they also touch on the book and how the show differs or stays the same. Plus there’s the occasional rant about George R.R. Martin taking so long to write the next book.
