Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Blast Points Podcast: Episode 101 starts out with a little discussion of Thanksgiving, then they delve into the TV spots for The Last Jedi, all fourteen of them. They also touch on the international TV spots, the new magazine covers and articles, and the Disney park updates. Then it’s the main discussion – Ric Ollie. They talk about the other movies Ralph Brown (the actor who played Ric) has been in, they go over every line of dialog by Ric Ollie from The Phantom Menace, and they wrap up with listener feedback. I have to admit, I really like the character focused episodes as they are a lot of fun.

Brews and Blasters: Episode 145 kicks off with their recap of Rhode Island Comic Con. They talk about meeting Dolph Lundgren, the Blood Sport guy, Steve Blum, Newbacca, Andy Serkis, and Evil Lyn. Afterwards they talk news and get into some speculation on the Rian Johnson Star Wars trilogy. Fun episode.

Podcast Network: RetroZapRuntime: 1 hour 23 minutes, Rating: Fun

DorkLair: Episode 15 covers the new S.H. Figuarts figures that have been revealed, Vader and Luke, plus some more tips on where to get the figures and perhaps who to stay away from. Then they review the phase two Clone trooper.

Podcast Network: RetroZapRuntime: 46 minutes, Rating: Good

Essential Bombad Radio: Episode 28 features Jeremiah and Travis as they talk about Star Wars Battlefront II. They go over the loot boxes, the beta, the hours needed to unlock characters, reddit reactions, death threats, legal investigations over gambling concerns, EA’s actions, the reviews, and everything else that is going on with the game. Jeremiah and Travis don’t actually get negative on the game as they’re mostly reporting all of things going on around the game. They wrap up with what game studios they would like to see tackle a Star Wars game. While I knew there was some negative reactions to the game, I had no idea at the extent of the controversies that had popped up. Very informative episode.

Podcast Network: Bombad RadioRuntime: 1 hour 4 minutes, Rating: Good

Fly Casual: Episode 161 includes reviews for Mace Windu #3, Darth Vader #7, some Star Wars Rebels discussion on “The Occupation” and “Flight of the Defender”, then they get into rumors. They talk about JJ’s comments on the prequels and what they think will actually make it in, Rian Johnson’s comments on Episode IX, translations for the international trailer, thoughts on lightsaber wielding, Adam Driver’s comments and more.

Podcast Network: Better Kind MediaRuntime: 1 hour 41 minutes, Rating: Good

Hyperspace PodBlast: Episode 40 discusses spoilers in regards to what is and isn’t a spoiler? Plus they talk about their thoughts on spoilers, and what their stance is on The Last Jedi spoilers.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode 146 Tim shares his thoughts on Legends material finding its way into canon with some examples of stuff that has already made the jump.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode 149 is Tim’s gut reaction thoughts on the mid season finale for Star Wars Rebels season four.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode 150 starts with a quick recap of Tim’s Star Wars gaming history, then leads up to his game experience with Star Wars Battlefront, and his gut reactions with Star Wars Battlefront II. No spoilers, so you’re good to go whether you’ve played it or not. Tim also touches on some of the loot crate controversy.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode 151 kind of talks around the new Entertainment Weekly Star Wars magazine as Tim explains why he hasn’t read it yet, or watched the new commercials. You could probably skip this episode if you wanted to as it doesn’t really cover much.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode 152 Tim shares what he is thankful for in the world and fandom of Star Wars.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode 153 tackles an interesting question – who is the best pilot in Star Wars? Tim brings up some good points.

Magic on a Dollar: Episode 8 starts with news including John Lasseter stepping down from Pixar, Galaxy’s Edge and Batuu, and Disney’s New Year’s Eve events and crowd expectations. Afterwards Dave gives a non-spoiler review for the new movie Coco, and then at the end there’s a spoiler section (plenty of warning) which goes over all the easter eggs.

Rebel Force Radio: Episode 11.24.17 includes more voice mails and listener call-ins. They talk about what from Legends they would like to see jump into canon, speculation on The Last Jedi soundtrack, thoughts on possible character reunions, avoiding spoilers, Black Friday and shopping for Star Wars fans, Reylo, and whether DJ will be the new Lando. Plus they have on guest Jeremy Meadows to go over Nissan’s new Star Wars car and commercial.

Podcast Network: Rebel Force RadioRuntime: 2 hours 5 minutes, Rating: Good

Skywalking Through Neverland: Episode 192 discusses the addition of Crait to Star Tours. They do go into some things that might be spoilery for those wanting to maintain the surprise of the new attraction, but there’s plenty of warning. Afterwards they get into the Star Wars Holiday Special. There’s a voicemail from a listener and his daughter who watched it for the first time, and Rich and Sarah talk with Larry Heider, one of the camera operators for the Holiday Special. Larry has a lot of great stories. They talk about what it was like shooting the special, interacting with the actors, as well as his other work. Great interview.

Talk Star Wars: Episode 96 starts with YouTube feedback, then they delve into various topics like favorite Leia moments, thoughts on Kylo Ren meeting Force ghosts, they get into Bloodlines a bit, cover some images from The Last Jedi, the possibilities of Kylo and redemption, what drives Snoke, news stuff, Lord and Miller’s public comments, and afterwards there’s a little concert discussion.

Talk Star Wars Daily: Episode 11.27.17 touches on the passing of Ron Howard’s father, Gwendolyn Christie’s comments about being in Star Wars, vintage figure finds, and some potential spoiler stuff for The Last Jedi.

Talk Star Wars Daily: Episode 11.29.17 covers the arrival of digital copies of The Last Jedi hitting cinemas, along with rating, cast list and summary copy provided. Marc also touches on the Empire magazine covers, and then gets into some spoiler stuff.

TechnoRetro Dads: The Last Pumpkin Pie discusses the weather, Disneyland, Kenner toy find, Thanksgiving jokes, Star Wars live action TV show news, the Rian Johnson trilogy news, their thoughts on both, cereal segment, parody song, old TV shows and Thanksgiving episodes, Turkey Shoot video game, and they talk Thanksgiving.

The Deucecast Movie Show: Episode 304 starts with their Thanksgiving Day plans, they play a movie game for actors and their highest rated movies on Rotten Tomatoes, then they get into what they’re thankful for (movie wise). Plus there’s some discussion of Justice League (no spoilers).

The Deucecast Movie Show: Episode 305 covers the movies coming out this winter, plus a tangent on Kevin Spacey. Good episode for those wondering what movies will be coming out over the next couple months.

The Geek Supreme: Injustice – Porgs Among Us starts with the results on their predictions for Justice League. Scott was the only one who saw it so far, so he shares his thoughts on it. They also talk about the Punisher show, and then they get into the wider DC universe. They talk about Star Wars and their stance on spoilers, what could go wrong or right for The Last Jedi, and some porg discussion. Great episode.

Podcast Network: Assembly of GeeksRuntime: 57 minutes, Rating: Great

The Sandcrawler: Episode 39 celebrates Life Day a little, then they go over their The Last Jedi plans, news stuff, details on the Disney streaming service, Funko Pop’s golden ticket, Dan goes over what Rhode Island Comic Con was like, shares a cool tidbit about Chewbacca and the porg feather which is definitely worth checking out. They also talk about Dengar being used as an Ewok curse word, toy news, recent acquisitions, Amazon exclusives and more. Good episode.

Podcast Network: RetroZap, Runtime: 1 hour 51 minutes, Rating: Good

The Skyhoppers Podcast: Episode LXX covers Star Wars Battlefront II, and they do get into serious spoilers for the campaign story, so fair warning. They talk about the differences between the game and Inferno Squad, they delve into spoilers with the campaign mode and touch on the abrupt ending that’s left to be continued in future DLC. They give their impressions on multiplayer, and throughout, they stay positive on everything. For those who haven’t played the game but are looking for spoilers on the campaign story, they don’t really give a good cohesive summary of what happens, so you may need to looks elsewhere. They jump around on hit on highlights here and there, so you do get some ideas of what happens. Overall, good episode.
