Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.
Blast Points: Episode 69 features their Star Wars Celebration Orlando coverage with lots of audio from the con. They talk with Mary Franklin, droid builder Andy Dorizas, Star Wars vegetable carver Okitsugu Kato, cosplayers, Steve Sansweet and podcasters such as Imperial Senate Podcast, Roqoo Depot and Star Wars 7×7. Great little episode that encapsulates some of the fun of Celebration.

Rebel Force Radio: Episode 4.15.17 features Jason, Jimmy and Billy as they discuss The Last Jedi panel, the Nissan Rogue, some other Celebration stuff, and The Last Jedi poster, though they do misidentify who is in the poster. The first half of the episode also has a beeping a noise which is kind of annoying.
Rebel Force Radio Declassified: Twin Suns features Jason, Jimmy, Adam Bray and Paul Bateman as they discuss the episode of Star Wars Rebels. They go over whether the inclusion of Ezra in the episode was necessary, if Luke looked right, and Jason drags them into a lengthy discussion about the chosen one prophecy.
Skyhoppers Podcast: Special Release – Rebels Season 4 Reaction goes over their favorite moments from the trailer, freak out moments, things they’re excited for, and they dive into the characters like Kanan and Hera, Bo-Katan and Rukh. Good episode.
Skywalking Through Neverland: Episode 164 features a great interview with Ingvild Deila, the actor who plays Princess Leia in Rogue One. She talks about how she got the part, prepping for the role, and the other work she has done. Great episode.
Skywalking Through Neverland: SWCO Live Show unfortunately isn’t available for anyone to listen to (at least not yet). However, I did have the good fortune of being able to attend the panel in person, and their live show on the Podcast Stage was a blast. One of the main themes for the show was the 40th anniversary of Star Wars, so they covered some highlights throughout Star Wars history, involving the fans by having them share their stories about those particular moments, and doing trivia tied to those moments with some great giveaway prizes. Breaking things up, there was an appearance by Secret Squirrel, a mini-episode of Classic Marvel Star Wars Comics by Randy Stradley, everyone sang the Life Day song from the Star Wars Holiday Special, and they had a tribute to Carrie Fisher. From beginning to end, they worked the audience and kept everyone laughing and engaged. It was easily the funnest panel I went to during the whole convention.

Star Wars 7×7: Episode 1015 recaps Thursday from SWCO.

Star Wars 7×7: Bonus Episode Sunday, and The Last Jedi Planet Reveal goes over the SWCO events on Sunday, and the name of the new planet that was shown in The Last Jedi trailer.
Star Wars 7×7: Episode 1018 has a quick little conversation with David Collins that is interrupted by an oboe player playing Star Wars music at Star Wars Celebration.
Star Wars 7×7: Episode 1019 features a question with Steve Sansweet at Star Wars Celebration Orlando.

Star Wars Report: Episode 277 is the audio from their live show on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration Orlando which features guests Anthony Breznican and Steele Saunders as they talk about The Last Jedi trailer. They do a Star Wars mad libs with Scott Ryfun’s help, and they share their thoughts on what should come after Star Wars Rebels.
Starships Sabers and Scoundrels: Episode 26 focuses on Fan Expo Dallas as Dennis and Taxus talk about their experiences s which includes audio clips. Very nice coverage.
Talk Star Wars: Episode 65 is primarily hosted by Marc and Rob Cast, but Ash also joins them off and on a bit as this episode is a combination of recordings made throughout Star Wars Celebration Orlando. They have coverage from day zero to day four covering who they met, what they went to go see, their thoughts on the trailer and more. Nice look at the con.
Tarkin’s Top Shelf: Episode 13 is their audio from their live show on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration Orlando. It was hosted by Becca and Ryder Waldron and it was one of the podcast panels I was able to attend in person. The panel turned out great with some excellent discussion focused on the new canon with how it’s making connections to everything, the best entry points for new readers, and the ways the new canon is exploring and developing the characters beyond the films. They also addressed the shortcomings like how there is no wow factor yet with any books blowing our minds. The audio for the episode turned out good so give it a listen.
