Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Aggressive Negotiations: Issue 024 discusses the importance of the inclusion of Saw Gerrera in Rogue One, what led to this, and what it might mean for future storytelling. Interestingly enough, they actually don’t talk too much about Saw the character or the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes he was in. It’s mainly focused on the decision of using him rather than him as a character.

Assembly of Geeks: Ghostbusters Reboot, Thrawn Reborn & Indy Revitalized starts with their thoughts on the new Ghostbusters film, they cover some news, then head into SWCE and the announcement of Thrawn, and wrap up with Indy, The Secret Life of Pets, and Stranger Things. Good episode.

Beltway Banthas: Star Wars Celebration Roundup features Swara Salih who represented them for SWCE and brought back some fun audio including conversations with Bryan Young (Full of Sith) and Riley Blanton (The Star Wars Report). The hosts also dive into some discussion about the lack of a title for Episode VIII. Fun episode. Continue Reading Podcasts in Review…

Lights_Out_2016_posterKeep the lights OUT!

The story behind Lights Out’s production and release is one of excitement and wonder. The concept was created by the movie’s first time director, David Sandberg, as an entry into a short horror film competition. The short film won the competition, and it was eventually recognized by a modern horror guru, James Wan (Saw, Insidious, The Conjuring) and the rest of Hollywood. A movie deal was made, and now here we are. As an aspiring film student, Sandberg being recognized and plucked from obscurity to direct this feature based on his own story is definitely heartwarming.
