There are many Star Wars artists who have contributed to the franchise. From movie posters to concept artists, and of course, comics. One comic artist who caught my attention is Ken Kelly. Ken is reknown for his fantasy paintings. Studying under Frank Frazetta, Ken’s style is reminiscent of that same style of painting. Throughout his career, he’s done artwork for magazines, book covers, record albums, toy manufacturers, and comics.

For Dark Horse, he did the covers for Star Wars: Republic: Prelude to Rebellion, Outlander, and Boba Fett: Enemy of the Empire. With those 18 covers, he left his mark by portraying Ki-Adi-Mundi, Tusken Raiders, Boba Fett and Darth Vader.

To showcase his wonderful artwork, the Roqoo Depot Galleria present the Star Wars art of Ken Kelly.

  1. […] In the late 1990s Kelly produced a number stunning covers for Dark Horse Comics for their Star Wars … He painted several covers for the ongoing Star Wars series set during the Prequel era, as well as covers for the four issue miniseries Star Wars: Boba Fett – Enemy of the Empire and its collected edition. Kelly created some really great art for George Lucas’ epic space fantasy, and I wish he’d had more opportunities to work on the series. […]
