Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Bombad Radio: Episode 152 features yet another fantastic interview, this time with the creator of the Forgotten Realms, and author, Ed Greenwood. Jeremiah pulls out some excellent questions for Ed, and Ed does not disappoint with his answers. He shares some great stories about the Forgotten Realms, his part in it, and how things have worked out. If you haven’t read The Herald yet and you’re worried about spoilers, don’t be, this episode is completely spoiler free. A must listen to for Forgotten Realms fans and a good interview to check out for readers in general. The topics Ed discusses have a lot of merit in being applied in other franchises and in different mediums.

Episode 153 is a doubleheader with authors Richard Lee Byers and David Farland (Dave Wolverton). Both authors give some really nice writing advice which is great for anyone who is thinking about or does writing, but it’s also very insightful for readers, giving them a deeper understanding of the tips and tricks of the trade. Plus there’s some discussion about their own books which readers will also enjoy. Really awesome episode and definitely worth a listen.

Fangirls Going Rogue: Episode #8 includes an interview with Star Wars Rebels voice actress Vanessa Marshall who talks about recording for the show, charity and fans, and what she doesn’t know about A New Dawn. Teresa and Tricia give a quick recap of Star Wars Weekends, and later on, Bethany from the Star Wars Report joins them as they talk about the characters of Star Wars Rebels and the actors of Star Wars Episode VII. Lots of good discussion on all things Star Wars, both television and the movies.

Full of Sith: Episode LXIX features special guests Amy Ratcliffe and ‘Jawa’ James Floyd as they join Bryan and his son at Origins where they talk a little about the convention, Aaron Allston, and Timothy Zahn. It’s pretty brief, and quickly kicks in to Bryan’s interview with Nick Gillard at Salt Lake Fan Experience (audio is courtesy of Bombad Radio, so if you’ve already listened to Bombad Radio’s podcast of the audio for that panel, you’re covered).

Radio 1138: Episode 10 has a report from FedCon and all the Star Wars things that happened there. Plus they have some cool audio clips of Steve Sansweet’s panels from the con. Afterwards, they talk with Jonathan Wilkins about all things Star Wars Insider. Then Mark and James discuss the TMZ photos, Jedi News’ stance on the pictures, the new stand-alone director, the new actresses, and they have an interview with Nalini Krishan who played Barriss Offee in the films.

Rock Out Loud: (Dr.) Feel Good Music once again explores a wide selection of music, but this time focusing on songs that make you feel good. The playlist includes Mmmbop, Sister Christian, Nothin’ But A Good Time, All These Things That I’ve Done, Won’t Back Down, Demolition, 21st Century Sha La La La Girl, The Jetset Life Is Gonna Kill You, All Right Now, Love On The Rocks With No Ice, Rock and Roll Train, and Candy’s Room. Yes, they delve into Hanson, but hey, they include some AC/DC some I good with it (AC/DC makes everything better). More Def Leppard, more Bruce Springsteen, some new bands I’ve never heard of and some more good songs from The Killers. Lots of musical enjoyment and fun discussion, so if you’re in the mood to rock out and explore new music, be sure to listen in.

Skywalking through Neverland: Episode 34 has some coverage of Mark Hamill’s appearance at Star Wars Weekends. First they talk with Dan Berry who was there, and then with Teresa Delgado, who was also there, thus giving two different perspectives on the shows. After that, they head into a fan film segment with Mark Oguschewitz where they talk about their own fan film TPZ! (a play on TMZ), which is alter joined by their visual effects supervisor, Roy Unger. All of them share lots of tips and tricks when it comes to making a fan film and the rigors involved. There’s also quite a bit of discussion on the special effects aspect. Plus Margaret Kerry is back for another “Ask Tink” segment and there’s some old Mark Hamill audio from one of the first conventions he ever did. It’s a well rounded episode with lots of fun discussion and good guests.

Star Wars Report: Episode #133 includes Riley’s recap of his experience at Star Wars Weekends and seeing the Mark Hamill panel. They also have a report from Jason Hunt (The Wampa’s Lair) on Phoenix Comicon, the Star Wars stuff that was there, some of the panels he went to, and some Doctor Who. They touch on some news and rumors and dive into some discussion on geeks and pop culture. A good episode all around and worth checking out.
