It’s interesting how many Star Wars authors have come over from the Realms: Elaine Cunningham, Troy Denning, Paul S. Kemp, Drew Karpyshyn, R.A. Salvatore, Christie Golden. Jeff Grubb is also no exception. Before writing Scourge, he wrote several Forgotten Realms novels with his wife, Kate Novak. The first one was Azure Bonds, a fun fantasy story and part of The Finder’s Stone Trilogy.

The Wyvern’s Spur is the second book in that trilogy, but surprisingly, it has little to do with the previous book and is a great standalone story in itself. Even more surprisingly, it’s a superior book to the first. If you’re looking for a great fantasy story to escape in, this one is well worth checking out. Click here to read our full review.
