‘Star Wars: Frames’ Paperback Version

January 29, 2013 at 1:08 pm | Posted in Books, News, Star Wars, Star Wars Books, Star Wars News | 1 Comment

Star Wars: Frames was a super rare book set that retailed for around $3,000 with just 1,138 copies being made. The set included six books and a display case which weight a whopping 210 lbs. There was one book for each movie, and each was filled with photo stills from the films. (Sideshow still has a page with the product details here)

For Star Wars fans who missed out, or for those whose pockets aren’t quite as deep, there will now be a paperback version which is currently available for pre-order on Amazon. It’s listed at 736 pages and with a November 1, 2013 release. The price is just $150. If you’re a hard core collector, this may be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

Thanks to Rebelscum.com for the heads up.

StarWars.com has announced today that the 3D releases of Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith will be postponed.

Lucasfilm has decided to postpone this fall’s scheduled release of Star Wars Episodes II and III in 3D. Given the recent development that we are moving forward with a new Star Wars trilogy, we will now focus 100 percent of our efforts on Star Wars: Episode VII in order to ensure the best possible experience for our fans. We will post further information about our 3D release plans at a later date.

Well postponement isn’t as bad as it being canceled, however this isn’t the best sign for fans who were hoping to see the originals in 3D before Star Wars Episode VII’s release.

In case you missed this little piece of news (like I did), Tim Lebbon’s upcoming Dawn of the Jedi novel Into the Void will include an original Dawn of the Jedi short story by John Ostrander, plus a full color excerpt from Dawn of the Jedi comic. This will be very similar to the Knight Errant novel which also included a full color comic excerpt.
