First up in lit news, Isaac Hooke has an interview with Daniel Abraham (one of the authors assigned to the upcoming Han Solo novel for the Rebels series). The interview covers a nice range of topics without focusing on any one book.

TOR.com has an excerpt for Hellhole: Awakening by Kevin J. Anderson and Brian Herbert which you can check out here. The excerpt includes the first chapter. Hellhole: Awakening, the second book in the trilogy, will be out on March 26, 2013.

Now for some tragic news. A Tusken Raider was injured while working on the Kenobi project. An initial investigation by John Jackson Miller revealed that the splash marks were far too accurate for regular hot chocolate, “Only Swiss Miss is so precise.” We understand that regardless of the incident, the Kenobi project is still on schedule with an estimated delivery date of late 2013.

And now for a public service announcement: Carlos D’Anda needs your help! Carlos D’Anda, the artist for Dark Horse’s new Star Wars series, is urging fans to buy more copies of Star Wars #1. Already own a copy? Then buy more. Yes, that’s right: multiple copies. Only through your help can Carlos raise enough money…to buy some cool figures from HotToys. Ahem. Well, we all have our hobbies.

Regardless, Carlos did post some nice uncolored art from Star Wars #1, and a sneak peak at Star Wars #2.

Capping things off, ABC president Paul Lee made some interesting remarks concerning Star Wars and Disney. The US ABC TV network is a part of Disney, and now that the Star Wars Disney deal has been completed, ABC is ready to begin their own talks.

“We’d love to do something with Lucasfilm. We’re not sure what yet. We haven’t even sat down with them. We’re going to look at [the live-action series]. We’re going to look at all of them, and see what’s right. We weren’t able to discuss this with them until [the acquisition] closed and it just closed. It’s definitely going to be part of the conversation.

It’s going to be very much up to the Lucasfilm brands how they want to play it. We got to a point here with Marvel, a very special point, where we’re in the Marvel universe, and very relevantly so. We’re not doing The Avengers, but SHIELD is part of The Avengers. So maybe something oblique is the way to [approach the Star Wars universe] rather than going straight head-on at it.”
