The vast expanded universe of Star Wars has become the home of many writers and artists. One of those artists is the talented Kellie Strom who illustrated a little story called “Fortune, Fate, and the Natural History of the Sarlacc.”

The story appeared in Star Wars: Tales #6, which was later collected in Star Wars: Tales Volume 2. Thanks to the wonders of the internet, much of the artwork is available online and we have gathered it here for your viewing pleasure. Take a walk with us through the Roqoo Depot Galleria as we view the splendid work of Kellie Strom.

“In a fit of madness I decided to render all the artwork in acrylic, rather than do computer colouring, the normal practice for these comics. Along the way I got to paint Jabba the Hutt, Boba Fett, Stormtroopers, Dewbacks and Jawas.” -Kellie Strom

“The dewbacks were very enjoyable to do, especially as I found great reference in the creature designs wonderfully drawn by Terryl Whitlatch, shown on the official Star Wars site.” -Kellie Strom

“I also got to design a new character that Mark Schultz had dreamed up, Grubbat Fhilch, as well as a couple of new creatures found on the planet Tatooine, a bony vulture and a giant three-headed spider!” -Kellie Strom

“The main subject however, was the life cycle of the Sarlacc as it grew from spore to parasitic larva, then metamorphosed into an adult creature.” -Kellie Strom

If you’re interested in owning the original artwork, there is a site were you can buy the pages. Be warned, the price ranges from $1,000 to $1,200 dollars. Here is a link to the site for those who are interested. You can also find out more about Kellie Strom on her official website which has lots of her artwork and tons of information.
