As you could probably guess due to past years Star Wars is going to be a definite presence as this year’s San Diego Comic Con.  Not only will participants get a chance at a first look at the Blu-ray editions, a preview of TCW season four will be shown.  More than that, however, Luke Skywalker himself will be putting in an appearance both Friday and Saturday, July 22 and 23.  Joining Mark Hamill on Friday will be the legendary Lando, Billy Dee Williams.

For more information check out the schedule here on TOS.

Coming February 7, 2012, The Millennium Falcon Owner’s Workshop Manual will be written by Ryder Windham and illustrated by Chris Trevas and Chris Reiff. According to Star Wars Books, the book “will give you a detailed look inside the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.” It will be an oversized 128 page full color hardcover, published by Del Rey.

Featuring brand-new, full-color cutaways, this manual will provide the most thorough technical description of the Millennium Falcon available as well as detailed information about:
-The history of Corellian Engineering, the YT-series and the YT-1300
-Millennium Falcon operational history (previous owners and modifications)
-Engineering systems and sensors
-Crew facilities: quarters, medical bay, and recreation.
-Piloting, propulsion, weapons, and defensive systems.
-Flight notes: practical and tactical information on flying the Millennium Falcon.

It’s worth noting that this is just a preliminary cover. Regardless it’s pretty cool looking and it makes you wonder if we might see more.

You know it when you see it and everyone does it.  You’ve seen it in James Kirk’s artfully torn uniform, Virtual Six in the the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica, and the Denna Troi/William Riker scenes in Star Trek: The Next Generation.   Here’s our list of the top five Star Wars memorable fanservice moments!

#5  A simple bug-cuddle between friends

Dark Nest 1: The Joiner King‘s Jaina and Zekk’s bug-cuddling moment is memorable because it was designed to appeal to Jaina/Zekk shippers, but in the end it just made everyone gag. While fans were later grossed out by the words “membrosia excess” in the next paragraph, this moment later paved the way for the Zekk-Jaina-Jag love triangle in the Legacy of the Force series — and lots of arm rubbing (shudder!).  It remains to this day one of the closest moments the EU has had a to sex scene.

A weight lay across Jaina’s chest, and the inside of one ear was being warmed by a soft, pulsing growl.  The dormitory was filled with a comforting melange was filled of refresher soup and body smells from a dozen species, but predominant odor, familiar and musky and strongest, was human.

Male human.

Zekk.

The Ultimate Alien Anthology is a Star Wars Roleplaying Game book published by Wizards of the Coast. Unlike most rpg sourcebooks, the Ultimate Alien Anthology is not weighed down with game info. Instead it is filled with very useful reference information on 177 sentient species from the Star Wars galaxy (179 if you count the two bonus species included in the free web enhancement). Those species are fairly all encompassing up until Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Continue Reading A Closer Look at the Ultimate Alien Anthology
