  • PC World says that there’s a price war looming between e-reader manufacturers, Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
  • Starting April 25,  the Nook Color will receive software updates, including a free email app, Angry Birds, and Android 2.2.  CNET reviewed the updates, complete with video.
  • According to Engadget, Amazon is working with Samsung to launch an Android tablet this summer that could arguably compete with Apple’s iPad.
  • VezTech USA plans to have a universal reader app available in the iTunes store by summer 2011 (via).
  • Educational platform Xplana expects that 25% of college textbooks will be digital by 2015.

  1. Nice piece. As the parent of a kid in college I can tell you that the digital textbooks are some 40% cheaper too. Comparable to the cost of used books. I might add you can fit all four core subjects on the one reader and my daughter carries it in her handbag to school as opposed to four bulky textbooks in a spine warping backpack.
