Recap of the Pablo Chat
May 3, 2013 at 3:05 pm | Posted in Books, Del Rey, Star Wars, Star Wars Books | Leave a commentTags: pablo hidalgo
Pablo Hidalgo did a live chat on Star Wars Books’ Facebook page which you can check out here. Below you’ll find our easy to read, edited version.
Pablo Hidalgo: Greetings from sunny (surprisingly!) San Francisco.
PH: I think the EU will always continue to be part of the Star Wars experience, in that there are stories that are best suited for books, comics, games. etc.. The relationship between cinematic content and expanded universe content will continue to be what it is today and has been in the past. What happens on screen is one thing. What happens in the books is another. How they connect and interact is something I’m really eager to see.
Can you share one of the wackier canon or continuity issues you’ve had to deal with? Continue Reading Recap of the Pablo Chat…

More Thoughts on the Big News
October 31, 2012 at 10:44 am | Posted in Star Wars News | Leave a commentTags: pablo hidalgo, steve sansweet, timothy zahn
Star Wars author Pablo Hidalgo posted on the official Star Wars Blog about the announcement of three new Star Wars movies and the acquisition of Lucasfilm by Disney. You can check it out here. Steve Sansweet weighed in with his thoughts here. And you can also check out J.W. Rinzler’s post here.
Star Wars author Timothy Zahn also shared some initial thoughts on Facebook.
1. No, I haven’t been contacted by either Disney or LFL.
2. There’s no indication that anything from the Thrawn Trilogy (or any other EU book/comic will be part of the new movies.
3. There’s also no indication that they *won’t* make an appearance. Right now, we really have nothing on any of those details.
4. If Disney *did* want to use anything from the EU, they wouldn’t need the author’s approval or permission to do so. Everything that’s been written under the Star Wars logo is LFL properly (as is only right and proper), and they can do with it as they please.
5. If by some miracle Disney *does* want my input on the project, I *will* be on the next flight to California. Heck, I’ll charter a plane if I have to.

Update on TCW Younglings Arc
October 25, 2012 at 8:05 am | Posted in Star Wars News, Television, The Clone Wars | 1 CommentTags: pablo hidalgo
Pablo Hidalgo shared some more information on the upcoming younglings arc which will be following the Onderon episodes in The Clone Wars.

“Already, the Cartoon Network blog has shed some light on what’s coming up after the Onderon arc wraps. It’s a series of episodes showcasing Ahsoka and a group of younglings – episodes that were edited together as a unique feature-length movie screened at Celebration VI. These episodes, “The Gathering,” “A Test of Strength” “Bound for Rescue” and “A Necessary Bond” will deliver a rousing Clone Wars adventure in the vein of the classic Lucas and Spielberg produced-films that dominated the late ‘70s to mid-‘80s. And they feature an amazing guest star that – much to my surprise – has not been reported anywhere since the Celebration VI screening. I guess he filled the role that well that no one guessed who he is…” -Pablo Hidalgo
