Del Rey recently revealed that Martha Wells’ upcoming Leia novel will be called Razor’s Edge. This will be the first novel in what was previously referred to as the Rebels trilogy but is now being called the Empire and Rebellion trilogy. Regardless, there are still two more books set to come out and two more titles yet to be revealed. This raises the question: what will they be called? Along with the blurb news, Edeweiss also had some tentative release dates for the other Rebels novels, though I’m not sure how firm these dates will be. According to them, James S.A. Corey’s Han Solo novel is set for March 2014 and Kevin Hearne’s Luke Skywalker novel is set for January 2015, which seems a long ways off. This far out, those dates will probably change as we get closer to each release.

James S.A. Corey (aka Ty Franck and Daniel Abraham) is signed up to write a Han Solo novel as part of the Rebels series. Both writers are new to Star Wars. What will they be like? Well, they might be new to Star Wars, but they’re definitely not new to science fiction. Leviathan Wakes is a sci-fi novel populated with deep characters and a rich storyline. Ty Franck and Daniel Abraham (aka James S.A. Corey) posted the following update on their upcoming Star Wars Han Solo novel (part of the Rebels series).
Ground has been broken on the Star Wars novel. An outline has been approved, and chapters are being typed. Things I’ve learned so far: It is important to know ahead of time how you will handle Chewie talking, the Star Wars universe has instantaneous communication and nearly instantaneous travel but space is STILL big enough to hide things, hyperspace is how you get away from badguys but jumping through hyperspace ain’t like dusting crops kid, and Leia is the brains of the operation. If someone has a good idea, it’s Leia. Han is always always always wrong when he makes a plan or predicts the future, but man does he improvise gracefully. More robots. Always more robots.
