And here’s the news…
George Lucas made an interesting headline this week with his appearance on CBS This Morning announcing that he’s going to start a museum (didn’t we all here Indy yelling “It belongs in a museum!”). You can check out the video here.
In the better late than never category, Chronicle Books had a nice write up on the making of the cover for Vader’s Little Princess. Written by Jeffrey Brown, who also did Vader and Son, Vader’s Little Princess will be out on April 23rd.
In non-Star Wars movie news, Harrison Ford is doing Anchor Man 2 alongside Will Ferrell; Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan are rumored to be in for Justice League; and Iron Man 3 has new trailers and movie posters out.
If you missed out on the Star Wars panel at Emerald City Comic Con (which featured Randy Stradley, Brian Wood, Corinna Bechko and Gabriel Hardman), you can check out the full video of the panel here. Continue Reading Around the Web…

I love You. I know. It’s only been a couple of weeks (Dec. 21) since the Disney Deal became official, but George Lucas is wasting no time moving on with his life. He announced, via a Lucasfilm rep to the Hollywood Reporter, that he and long time girlfriend, Melody Hobson, are engaged. Ms. Hobson heads Ariel Investment Llc., is the chairman of Ariel Mutual Funds, as well as chairman of Dreamworks Animation. Lucas and Hobson have been a duo since 2006.
One of the good guys. In a story right out of Fanboys, only this time it’s unfortunately true, J.J. Abrams granted a dying fan’s wish and arranged a private screening of Star Trek: Into Darkness. The fan, known only as Dan, has only weeks left when a friend posted his plight on Reddit. The post eventually attracted the notice of Abrams who reached out to Dan and his wife. Dan, who is suffering from two forms of cancer, reportedly loved the film. Honestly, after hearing this, I won’t care if the film is terrible (which I doubt). I’m going to love it. Lucas Funding Education With The Disney $4 Billion

In a Hollywood Reporter story a spokesperson for LucasFilm reports that George Lucas plans to put almost the entire profit from his Disney deal into a foundation focused on educational issues.
“George Lucas has expressed his intention, in the event the deal closes, to donate the majority of the proceeds to his philanthropic endeavors.”
No word yet on which foundation will receive the funds although Lucas has already funded his own Eutopia which he’s the chairman of.
The spokesperson added that this continues the commitment Lucas made in 2010.
“I am dedicating the majority of my wealth to improving education. It is the key to the survival of the human race. We have to plan for our collective future—and the first step begins with social, emotional, and intellectual tools we provide to our children. As humans, our greatest tool for survival is our ability to think and to adapt—as educators, storytellers, and communicators our responsibility is to continue to do so.” ~ George Lucas
