Update: The casting call news has been confirmed by LucasFilm (source TheForce.Net and Big Shiny Robot). Bleeding Cool reported the casting sheet as follows.

  • Late-teen female, independent, good sense of humour, fit.
  • Young twenty-something male, witty and smart, fit but not traditionally good looking.
  • A late twentysomething male, fit, handsome and confident.
  • Seventy-something male, with strong opinions and tough demeanour. Also doesn’t need to be particularly fit.
  • A second young female, also late teens, tough, smart and fit.
  • Forty something male, fit, military type.
  • Thirtysomething male, intellectual. Apparently doesn’t need to be fit.

Let the speculating begin!

Episode VII Love Story

According to Contactmusic.com, J.J. Abrams revealed that Star Wars Episode VII will have a central love story.

Of course there are a ton of possibilities. We could see Jaina Solo hooking up with someone new. There could be two completely new characters involved in some Jedi love story. Or, we could see what we’ve all been waiting for, the Leia and Chewbacca forbidden romance. Search your feelings, you know it be true.

Star Wars author Michael Reaves has a kickstarter for a project called Blood Kiss. The project has already met it’s $50,000 goal but there’s still time to get in and send a pledge. The Blood Kiss project includes both a film and a graphic novel. Neil Gaiman, Amber Benson and Tom Mandrake are involved and you can check all the info here.

And speaking of kickstarters, there’s one for Time Traveled Tales: A Speculative Fiction Anthology which will include stories by Aaron Allston, Michael A. 10 Episodes of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Bonus Content?

Star Wars podcast Full of Sith released a special interview episode with Kevin Kiner, the composer for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. In that interview, Kevin let slip the insinuation that the creative team is currently working on about ten episodes of the “bonus content” (skip to 00:20:28). With the glimpses we’ve seen of the bonus content so far, we’ve caught sneak peaks at a Yoda episode, an Order 66 type episode, and a Plo Koon/Sifo-Dyas episode. Furthermore, we know from an interview with Dave Filoni via Rebel Force Radio that we’ll also be getting the Clovis and Embo storyline which was originally planned as part of season five. That leaves a lot of possibilities, most of which our good friend Pete over on Lightsaber Rattling, has already mapped out. Whatever the future holds, fans probably won’t have to wait too much longer for more news with San Diego Comic Con and Star Wars Celebration Europe II just around the corner.

Star Wars Episode VII Rumor from Schmoes Know!!

Schmoes Knowbanner_1160_3 might have the coolest scoop in the biz right now if this turns out to be legit about Episode VII. It seems that Luke Skywalker will have two padawans to train… Jacen and Jaina Solo!!! But the goodness of this rumor doesn’t stop there, oh no, it seems the focus could be on Jacen as he falls to the dark side, dun dun dun!! There’s a little more as well, so check out the link above for all the details!!

So some fun fuel to add to the debates as we ramp up for filming… in 6 months.  Personally I would have rather seen Jaina turn to the dark side, but who knows maybe things will change? It may take a few pushes of the refresh button to get the page to load, evidently Star Wars news is HUGE right now.
