Del Rey has revealed that author Christie Golden will be writing a Asajj Ventress/Quinlan Vos novel!

Exciting news from our panel Dave Filoni, executive producer and supervising director of Star Wars Rebels has announced Del Rey’s upcoming Star Wars novel. Starring Asajj Ventress and Quinlan Vos based on unaired Star Wars: The Clone Wars scripts, the book is being written by Christie Golden and is scheduled for publication in the summer of

Dave Filoni: “Ventress had become one of the most interesting characters…we had all this material, we had all these designs…This is based on scripts we had written with George Lucas…I’m super excited about this book.”

According to Jennifer Heddle (and the SDCC panel recap on StarWars.com), this novel will be geared more toward adults, and according to Pablo Hidalgo, will be able to dive deeper in ways the show could not.

  • Bleeding Cool is reporting that Marvel will be doing two Star Wars monthly series and a Prince Leia comic. If this rumor is true, we might get confirmation at the Marvel: Women of Marvel panel which is Sunday 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM in Room 5AB.
  • Gabriel Hardman and Corinna Bechko will be doing a new sci-fi series for Image Comics called Invisible Republic. You can check out their interview right here.

Charity, Charity…IS THAT A STARFIGHTER?!

So in the latest Force For Change video, J.J. Abrams tries to get people to think of charity, but utterly fails by distracting everyone with the awesome visual of an extremely weathered starfighter that is not an X-wing. But hey, you could win a chance to be on set with that ship if you help out the charity. Anyways, check out the video and the uber cool starfighter.

  • Author Kevin Hearne posted some updates. He’s currently working on a fantasy novel called A Plague of Giants. He also revealed the title for the next Iron Druid Chronicles book, Staked. IDC fans can also look forward to a new short story he has written called “A Prelude to War” which is set after the events of Shattered.
  • Star Wars fans interested in checking out some non-Star Wars books by Star Wars authors might be interested in the Humble Sci-Fi Bundle which includes eBooks by Timothy Zahn, Barbara Hambly, William C. Dietz, Alan Dean Foster, Greg Bear and others.
