B.P.R.D. Hell on Earth #127 is a Hellboy story without Hellboy. That said, it still has the same artistic richness and mysterious story elements that make the franchise intriguing. In this issue, one of the agents returns from near death experience and finds a revelation for himself, one that might be the key to their success against a mystical monster. Last Minute Gift Ideas

December 22, 2014 at 7:22 pm | Posted in Books, Collecting, Comic Books, Dark Horse, Movies, Star Wars Books | Leave a comment

santa-yodaWith the holidays upon us, everyone is scrambling to get their gift shopping done. For those looking for some quick ideas for those Star Wars and sci-fi fans in your life, we’ve got some ideas that just might help.

Star Wars Books

This year has been a little light on Star Wars books with the change from the Expanded Universe to Legends. Maul: Lockdown by Joe Schreiber (5/5) and Honor Among Thieves by James S.A. Corey (5/5) both came out this year, however both fall  into the Legends category. For some fans, that makes a difference.

For those sticking only to canon, there’s A New Dawn by John Jackson Miller (5/5) and Tarkin by James Luceno (4/5). Those two mark the first Star Wars books considered official canon (ie. on par with the movies themselves).

They’re all good stories. Maul: Lockdown is a action packed, suspenseful, prison-escape type story focusing on Darth Maul. Honor Among Thieves focuses on Han Solo and brand new female character as they go on a mission for the rebellion. A New Dawn ties-in with the Star Wars Rebels tv show, and Tarkin focuses entirely on Grand Moff Tarkin from the first Star Wars movie, A New Hope. Continue Reading Last Minute Gift Ideas…
