There’s been a few interviews lately posted around the web that are worth checking out. Comic writer Tom Taylor speaks with CBR on his new comic Rose and Thorn.
What appealed to you about the concept behind Rose and Thorn? Were you familiar with the character before writing your “National Comics” issue?
TT: The concept is instantly appealing, a divided personality of light and dark, innocence and sin all wrapped up in one damaged high school girl. I was familiar with a few of the previous incarnations but the new Rose and Thorn is a long way removed from those.
Star Wars artist Dave Dorman talks with Social Blend which you can listen to here. Star Wars author and comic writer John Jackson Miller had a chance to talk on Wisconsin Public Radio. You can check the radio broadcast out online (look under 2012 Travels, August 30). Wired.com has posted a couple interviews including Star Wars artist Katie Cook…
What do you remember most strongly about the first time you saw Star Wars?
KC: Here’s my deep dark Star Wars secret: I remember seeing Spaceballs first, before I remember seeing Star Wars. And it was because I had an older brother, and he would watch Spaceballs all the time when we were kids. Then all of a sudden he was into Star Wars – he was more of a Trekkie, but he was watching Star Wars – and I was like, “That’s where that’s from – hilarious!”
…and Fanboys writer Ernie Cline.
Star Wars author Drew Karpyshyn was recently interviewed by Eurogamer.
