As announced at San Diego Comic Con 2012, the Dawn of the Jedi comic series will be getting the book treatment with Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void written by Tim Lebbon. This will be a standalone novel that will tie-in to the comic series created by John Ostrander and Jan Duursema.
While Tim may be new to Star Wars, he’s certainly not new to writing. Born in London England, Tim has been writing books since 1997 and has over a dozen titles under his belt. His novelization of the movie 30 Day of Night, which in turn was based off of the comic series, became a New York Times bestseller and earned him a Scribe Award in 2008.
John Jackson Miller certainly did a great job of transitioning from the Knight Errant comics to the Knight Errant novel, however it will be interesting to see how Tim handles the transition and how his writing will differ from John Ostrander.
According to Frank Parisi, “[Tim Lebbon has] been corresponding with John Ostrander and Jan Duursema…It takes place concurrent to the Force Storm story from the comics series, but tells its own story and shows things not seen in the comics.”
